GEI Featured in China Sustainable Development Report 2012

BEIJING (Mar. 11, 2012) – Science Press’s recently published China Sustainable Development Report 2012 includes expertise from Global Environmental Institute on “China’s ‘Going Global’ Strategy, and Chinese Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility Overseas.”

Since 2007, GEI has researched environmental and social behaviors of Chinese overseas enterprises and conducted relevant investigation on these issues. Through analyzing case studies on the environmental and social impact caused by Chinese companies investing overseas, as well as referencing to the existing international and domestic policies and legislations, GEI is working to establish a set of guidelines for regulating environmental behaviors of Chinese enterprises’ overseas investments.

In November 2011, Institute of Policy and Management at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIPM) signed an agreement, which entrusted GEI with research work to be featured in the report.

As one of Chinese Academy of Science’s three major reports from the “Science and Society Series”, the China Sustainable Development Report 2012 carries significant value in terms of research and reference for decision-makers, administrators, legislators of various levels, as well as for related science research institutions, academics, and the general public.
