Bingyu LAI joined GEI as the organization’s Institutional Capacity Building Program Officer in February 2020 and is mainly responsible for GEI’s capacity building projects, outreach, and project development.

Prior to joining GEI, Bingyu completed an internship at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and supported disaster prevention and mitigation activities in Northeast Asia. Since then, she has also interned at the United Nations Green Climate Fund, where she was responsible for organizing internal communications and building external partnerships.

Bingyu has studied in China, France, and Japan. She holds a Master’s degree in Intercultural Management from the University of Burgundy in France and has work experience in France and South Korea. She is fluent in Chinese, English, French, and Japanese, and also speaks some Korean. In her spare time, Bingyu loves traveling, reading, and communicating with friends from different cultural backgrounds.
